Xbox Wiki

Xbox Wiki is always expanding, meaning the community and new members will always be making edits and new articles. However, it is very important to know that there are some very important guidelines to follow when it comes to editing on the wiki.

Before reading this page, it is also worth reading the Rules and Regulations of the wiki.

If a page does not follow these policies or contains questionable information, a cleanup template can be added to the article.

Guidelines

General

  • New pages that are under five sentences long without an infobox or any images or templates will be deleted.
  • All contributions must be related to the page that is being edited. Any changes that are made that are not relevant to the article will be reverted.
  • Articles must be relevant to the Xbox or Microsoft brand.
  • All edits must be written from a neutral perspective. Meaning the article should not address the reader as 'you' but as 'the player' or the 'user'.
  • All edits must be in a formal way, not like a blog post.
  • When creating an article, make sure to format it correctly. Don't type everything all under one paragraph. Spread it out under headings and sub-headings to make it look neater.
  • A stub template can only be added if a page looks like it is lacking info or it is shorter than 5 paragraphs.
  • All spelling must be in English US.
  • Each article that is about a video games must use the Infobox VG template. PLEASE don't make your own Infobox instead!
  • Cursing is only acceptable in articles if used in a quote relevant to the article.

Categories

  • Categories such as Xbox (console), Xbox 360 and Xbox One are to only appear on articles that directly have something to do with the categories, such as features, accessories and controllers. Games are to not be put in these categories.
